Depart from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria on a 9-night journey through the northeastern regions of South Africa and the Kingdom of eSwatini.
Golfers enjoy five scheduled golf days at Sun City, Champagne Sports Resort, the Durban region, Royal Swazi and Highland Gate. Course selection is confirmed according to availability.
Non-golfing guests follow a dedicated programme of safari drives, battlefield history, city touring, cultural experiences and scenic excursions.
Between activities, guests return to the elegance of Rovos Rail for fine dining, afternoon tea, attentive service and uninterrupted views from the lounge and observation cars.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
Depart from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria around midday.

Settle into your private suite before meeting fellow passengers in the lounge and observation cars.

Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served on board as the train travels towards Rustenburg and Sun City.
Golfers transfer to Sun City for a round at the Gary Player Country Club or Lost City Golf Course, followed by lunch and time at the resort.

Non-golfers enjoy a guided game drive in Pilanesberg National Park, lunch with the golfers and leisure time at Sun City.
​
Return to the train in the late afternoon before dinner is served on board.
Enjoy a full day at leisure aboard Rovos Rail as the train travels through the South African interior towards Ladysmith.
​
All meals are served on board, with time available to relax in the lounge, enjoy the observation car and watch the changing landscape.
Golfers transfer to Champagne Sports Resort for a round of golf and lunch beneath the Drakensberg Mountains.

Non-golfers visit Spionkop Lodge for an introduction to the historic Battle of Spionkop, followed by lunch and a game drive or time at leisure.

Return to the train in the afternoon before dinner is served on board.
Golfers transfer to one of Rovos Rail’s selected Durban-area golf courses for a round and lunch.

Non-golfers enjoy a guided Durban city tour, a visit to the botanical gardens, lunch near the Umhlanga beachfront and time at leisure.

Return to the train for afternoon tea and dinner.
Depart early for a guided game drive in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, one of Africa’s oldest proclaimed wildlife reserves.
​
Return to the train before lunch as the journey continues towards the Kingdom of eSwatini.
​
Border formalities take place during the afternoon before dinner is served on board.
Golfers transfer to Royal Swazi for a round of golf and lunch.

Non-golfers enjoy a game drive in Mkhaya Game Reserve followed by a visit to Swazi Candles, with time to meet local artisans and browse handcrafted products.
​
Return to the train as the journey continues towards South Africa and the Kruger region.
Enjoy a guided game drive in the Kruger National Park, with refreshments and lunch included during the excursion.
​
Return to the train in the afternoon as it begins travelling west across the Drakensberg escarpment.
​
Leopard Creek may be requested for golfers, subject to availability and at an additional cost.
Golfers transfer to Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate for the final included round and lunch.

Non-golfers enjoy a fly-fishing presentation and lunch at Walkersons Hotel, followed by a Dullstroom visit featuring whisky and local arts and crafts.
​
Return to the train for the final evening and dinner on board.
Enjoy breakfast on board as the train completes its journey to Pretoria.

Arrive at Rovos Rail Station in the morning, where the 9-night Golf Safari comes to an end.
​
Transfers, onward accommodation and flights are arranged separately.
